US 550/US 160 Connection South Project Seeking Letters of Interest

28-Dec-2018 to 15-Jan-2019

On December 14, 2018, CDOT issued a Request for Letters of Interest (LOI) from companies or teams interested in providing Design-Build services for the US 550 / 160 Connection South Project in Durango. LOI's are due January 31 and CDOT will send Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) to responding firms early this year. CDOT will then issue Requests for Proposals (RFP) in the spring/summer 2019 to the teams who are short listed based upon initial qualifications. Proposals are expected to be due at the end of the year with final selection for award in early 2020. An updated solicitation timeline can be found on the project website at

The project's development including ROW acquisition continues to progress. The Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements for the two corridors have been executed and a re-evaluation of both corridor segments is underway. Although the contracting process for this estimated $75 million Design-Build project is a year long, now is the time for subconsultants and subcontractors to reach out to prime contractors and start securing spots on teams. Be sure to register as an Interested Vendor and check out the Attendee List and Resources from the Reverse Trade Fair that was held last October.
